What is 3-D Architectural Design?

You may have heard of 3-D architectural design but haven’t seen it come to life. Or maybe you would like a new outdoor space but are hesitant to get to work unless you can see it before investing. Land Design by Armstrong offers architectural renderings and 3-D design. This unique service is done by our landscape designers and architects. But what is 3-D architectural design? And what are the steps to have this done for your home? Keep reading for more.

3-D architectural design or rendering is an image that looks three-dimensional by being computer-generated. This shows what an architectural project will look like when it’s built. 3-D architectural technology is a must when making an investment in a new landscape design. At Land Design by Armstrong we like to say, “Dream it, see it and make it stand out”. From color concepts to placements, before we break ground you will be completely confident in your landscape. Our talented designers will capture the likeness of your existing space, then add the unique hardscape and landscape features that make your design come to life. You will be able to see your new space from all angles, lighting options alternate materials, and more.

3-D architectural design started as 3D modeling. According to Andrea Kuska, this technology “has been around for about 60 years when a computer scientist named Ivan Sutherland invented a computer software called Sketchpad in 1963. Sketchpad would become the world's first piece of architectural software, and it simplified the architectural world enormously.” The advancement of software to create 3-D designs continues to advance. At Land Design by Armstrong, we stay cutting-edge to provide you with realistic 3-D mockups of your project.

Simply start with an onsite meeting to discuss your vision or ask questions on how you can elevate your outdoor space. We have worked with plenty of clients that aren’t entirely sure what they want but know they want a relaxing and beautiful landscape for friends and family to enjoy for years to come. Simply let our design team go to work, you won’t be disappointed when you see what we come up with.
